The Scrimmage is coming up soon!

This year it will take place at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon on February 20th from 10AM - 4PM. To register your FIRST Robotics Team, click here!

Crescent Valley Robotics is a nine year old FIRST Robotics team. With over 40 members, we are a club at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, Oregon. Since our rookie year, when we earned the Motorola Quality Award, we have maintained a history of quality and craftsmanship. In recent years, we have strived to improve the team organization and breadth. Since the 2007-2008 school year, the robotics team is also running a robotics class that is eligible for credit through Crescent Valley High School. To spread the word about robotics, the team goes out into the community in various ways. From the Da Vinci Days Scrimmage to the Philomath Frolic, the students teach community members about the program. The team also goes to the local middle schools to encourage the students to join the team and attends elementary school science fairs. We also host a practice scrimmage before the real competition and invite local teams to join us in testing out our robots, as well as invite sponsors and community members.
What is FIRST Robotics?

"To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology heroes."
Dean Kamen, Founder
FIRST is a non-profit organization that runs off of volunteers. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) strives to motivate young students to discover how interesting and rewarding science and technology is. The goal is for students to learn about science and technology, as well as to develop important leadership and self-confidence skills. It sponsors the Junior FIRST LEGO League, for ages 6-9, all the way to the FIRST Robotics Competition, which is for high school students.
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international varsity sport of the mind designed to help high-school-aged young people discover how interesting and rewarding the life of engineers and researchers can be. The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week timeframe using a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and enter them in competitions designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers, and a committee of engineers and other professionals. FIRST redefines winning for these students because they are rewarded for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism and maturity, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Scoring the most points is a secondary goal. Winning means building partnerships that last. For more information on FIRST, click here.
