Competitions

These are the past FIRST games that we have competed in.

Zone Zeal - The Zone Zeal is a competition with two alliances where the robots compete to move goals and balls into the zones of the playing field. By scoring into the zones, numbered 1 through 5, alliances gain up to ten points per goal

Stack Attack - The Stack Attack is a competition where two alliances compete against each other by stacking large bins on top of each other. An autonomous period was also introduced.

Frenzy: Raising the Bar - The Frenzy: Raising the Bar was a competition that included many of the elements of the previous games. There were three ways to score: human players scoring balls into the goals, robot suspending from a 10 foot bar, and capping the goal with a multiplier ball.

Triple Play - The Triple Play was a competition in which "Tetras" were placed on goals around the field to create rows of three, as the goals were shaped like a tic-tac-toe board.

Aim High- The Aim High was a competition where robots tried to score into three goals on each side of the field. One of the goals was raised high in the center and two of the goals were on the ground. The alliances also have a chance to gain more points at the end of the match by driving on top of a platform.

Rack 'n Roll - The Rack 'n Roll was a competition where robots arranged toroidal game pieces on the rack in the middle. Although the teams can gain points just by placing a game piece on the rack, the points increase as you arrange rows of game pieces.

Overdrive - The Overdrive was a competition where robots raced each other around the field while maneuvering large "Trackballs" under and over the overpasses. Teams score points by making laps and moving the trackball across the finish lines.

Lunacy - The Lunacy was a competition where robots scored points by placing "Moon Rocks" into the trailers which are attached to each robot. The field was made out of a material referred as Regolith, which created a situation similar to the moon (low gravity and low friction).

Breakaway - The Breakaway is a competition where robots move soccer balls across the field into goals to score points. To move across the field, the robots have to overcome large bumps on the field. At the end of the match, robots can suspend themselves, and other robots, on the center tower.
